ELRA, NIRSAL Deepen Collaboration on Mechanisation, Financing

The Equipment Leasing Registration Authority (ELRA) and the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) are strengthening collaboration to advance agricultural mechanisation and expand access to financing in Nigeria.

At a strategic meeting held at NIRSAL Headquarters in Abuja, both institutions explored how leasing frameworks and risk-sharing mechanisms can support farmers, agribusinesses, and service providers with access to modern equipment through innovative leasing models.

ELRA’s Registrar/CEO, Mr. Donald Wokoma, was represented by Dr. Emmanuel Metuaghan, Director of Planning, Strategy and Coordination, who reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to a robust leasing ecosystem to boost productivity and food security.

Executive Director Operations, Mr. Ewaen Imohe who led the NIRSAL officials highlighted their role in de-risking agricultural financing and expressed readiness to partner with ELRA to expand credit access across the sector.

The collaboration, with an agreement to immediately form a technical committee signals a coordinated effort to transform Nigeria’s agricultural landscape through mechanization and structured financing.
